It was designed very simplistically so that everyone during that time would be able to use it. It was very affordable, costing only about $1, and became a widely used and popular camera during the early 1900's.
Importance of the event or invention: The Brownie Camera produced low-cost photography that attained the concept of a snapshot. The Brownie camera helped spark photojournalism. Designed by Frank Brownell, since the cost for the cameras were low production was very high.
